“I feel i’ve died and gone to heaven”
That’s how i can best sum up my visit(s) to the recent
flower show (potted flowers, cut flowers, arrangements
and flower ornaments)
held at PAU. It’s an annual event, an
exhibition, competition plus sale for all types of winter
flowers possible plus perennials and cacti.. GORGEOUS is
the keyword here.. i won’t say much because the pictures
will do the talking themselves..
There we some amazing plants being sold by Technocare
nursery ( GORGEOUS COLLECTION!), Raj nursery , Namdhari seeds and Bangal nursery.
Passi tools and International trade links were present
with samples of the garden tools they offer.. Expressions
flower shop had a stall full of fragrant candles, aromas,
diffusers, flower sticks and a very cute wrought-iron
display bi-cycle.. For Rs. 500 for a small size, its such
a steal!! And so am i going to! I’d seen the large one
outside their showroom too which retails for about Rs.
3000.. hmm.. (*calculating in mind*)
And ofcourse there was an exhibit by Ishiyama offering
totally drool-worthy stone artefacts!! I won’t be able to
rest till i up pick up the adorable stone mushrooms they
offer.. perfect garden accessory!
I bought a few geraniums(yes i know i’m obsessed with
them) pretending i don’t have any and there are still
more on my wishlist which they they’d refused to sell
even though i literally begged!! But ofcourse they said i
can pick them up from their nursery along with the seeds
i need for my garden as well as site so i think a trip to
their nursery is due. I also picked up 2 cyclamens from
them which were actually selling like hot cakes and at
150/ plant for a small pot, they were totally worth it,
specially compared to paying around 300 bucks for them in
Delhi!
I also met the markting rep for a new entry into in the
Indian market which plans to sell “exotic potted plants”
and bulbs for seasonal flowers. What’s more they plan to
propagate the bulbs in India itself! Well.. they are most
welcome! Its high-time the Indian floriculture market
gets an uplift… btw the company is called “Plantiss”
All in all, it was an affair to remember and for the next
year i must remember to participate too *banging my head
in wall thinking why didn’t i this year; my tulips and
azaleas were totally prize-worthy!*
I just realized that in 2 days i visited the exibition 4
times.. yes 4!! i just did not want to come home..
Moreover since i got into the landscaping business, i
knew all the stall-holders there.. lol.. except one tools
trader.. and every acquaintance i banged into there said
they were totally expecting me to be here.. hehe..
sweet!!
And oh! The person from namdhari told me that there is
another flower show in Rose garden on either 4-5th march
or 5-6th march.. i’ll confirm n publish.. and they will
be exhibiting there too.. yippieee.. good that they will
cuz people we literally fighting for their geraniums and
trying to sneak other people’s orders. hehe.. it was mad
but fun!!
Here’s a look..
WARNING/REQUEST: Please ignore my pathetic attempt at photography. All i did was *click* *click* *click*.. Such a riot of colors was a little over-whelming!
